I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ICON (Baltimore, MD) in Jul 2020
Interview
I had two interviews for two different job listings (same position title, different clinical studies) with ICON via phone.
The two interviews were vastly different due to the nature of the positions.
The first interview was with 1 program manager. She asked me two questions about my work experience and most of the call was explaining the position. Roughly 35 minutes.
The next interview was with 5 panel members including the Program Manager, Clinical Coordinator II, Project Manager, and Clinal Trials Manager.
They asked about 8 or 10 questions. The interview was a little over an 1 hour, ~10 minutes explaining the position, ~40 minutes for questioning the candidate, ~15 minutes for questions for candidate to ask.
Turnaround time for response was quick, both interviewers said they would make a decision within a week with no follow up interviews or phone calls. Decision was communicated through the company recruiter.

I applied online. I interviewed at ICON (Statesville, NC) in Oct 2025
Interview
Very straightforward, I was contacted for a phone screen a few days after applying. They did not reach out for over a week, then scheduled the next interview. They told me they had chosen a candidate with more experience a week later.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ICON (London, England)
Interview
2 stage process
Background and scenario based questions
A brief phone interview conducted by a recruiter or HR representative to verify the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and interest in the role. This may also include a brief discussion of salary expectations and availability.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ICON (Winston-Salem, NC) in May 2024
Interview
Straightforward and reasonable as long as you have some experience. If you have worked with a professor before or had a previous internship you will be fine. Also having some good questions and background about the company helped with the interview a lot.
