Just a basic phone screen interview with a recruiter. The recruiter was transparent about what questions they were planning on asking on the call. Usual questions about background, what you're looking for in a role, pay expectations, about Hubspot.

I applied for a position on Hubspot’s product design team. I did a total of 7 interviews. One with the recruiter as a screening, an interview with a lead and manager of the department, and lastly a 3.5 hour interview that included 3 individual interviews, and a presentation of my past work with two individuals on their team. It was daunting, drawn out, exhausting and demoralizing. At the end if all my interviews and continuously having to present and prove my value to the company, they decided they no longer had a need for the position. This was a two month process and very discouraging to learn that leadership had not had the strategic foresight into the needs of their team before wasting my time. Very unfortunate and I felt like all the cultural fluff they tried to vaguely promote about being a people center culture were false. They are people centered in terms of their internal needs but when it comes to having a greater value for PEOPLE beyond themselves, that was nonexistent. The recruiter was very hands off and not really knowledgeable about the process. She ghosted many times to go on vacations and left me in the dark regarding any specific feedback. I don’t recommend an experience like this to anyone and recommend that you trust your intuition when dealing with these fake progressive tech companies such as hubspot. Their practices are no different than most corporations.
