Strangest interview I've ever had.
Great first interview with the hiring manager, asked broad questions. Pretty standard. Did ask what my favourite product was which I thought a great question. Didn't hear anything for 6 weeks, then told I was progressing to interview with the HOP. I had heard he is looking for PM's who will push back on him or disagree with him. And throughout the interview it felt like he was trying to be as negative as possible. Not sure if this is what he's like or this is the test. He seemed really distracted, and didn't ask a single question about product management. "if you were to give 10 TedTalks today not about work what would it be".
When I asked him how they do product management, and I'd love to know what a it looks like at Heidi he said "that's a really broad question" and nothing else. When I asked why he is at Heidi and what's exciting he said "same thing that I was excited about 5 years ago" then silence again. I thought it awkward, but I actually think it was rude.
I think I would of been better off going in super contrarian just to get past his interview. Have heard from a friend who works there PM roles are near impossible and they have declined many great candidates 'just because' and without reason.
