      Marketing Interview

      27 May 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gymshark in Nov 2016

      Interview

A lengthy, tricky process in even getting an interview. They had the same job role advertised twice, but with two different job descriptions. Which confused my application. Leading to a rejection at one point, and an interest later. Bizarre. The interview itself went really well. The HR manager (I believe?) was very polite and incredibly passionate about her job and staff. The other person (who I'd be reporting to) was the bad cop, I suppose. And I was conscious of not making myself appear over-qualified, as it quickly became apparent that I had more skills and experience than she did. Later, the Recruiter who got me in touch with Gymshark, told me the interview went great and, though she shouldn't be getting my hopes up, that there was a great chance I'd be hired and should be recieving news by the end of the week. 1 week went by. Then 2. My recruiter at this point was baffled as to why she couldn't get an answer. It took an entire 4 weeks after the interview for them to give a rejection; giving the reason that I was a good candiate, but not the exact fit for that specific job role. I waited aimlessly (slowed down my applications for other jobs in the meantime) for a month. Very inconsiderate to keep someone waiting for that long, especially when their recruiter is constantly in touch with you for an answer!

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gymshark (Solihull, England) in Apr 2023

      Interview

Submit CV > Complete solo digital interview > F2F interview with task response. Final interview with 3 reps from within the team. Digital solo interview was difficult but they let you practice a lot. It's branded well with an intro video from Ben which made it feel more authentic versus purchasing a tech-solution from a partner which makes you feel like a number.
