Goldman Sachs came to hire for interns from my campus under the Operations and Services Division. Day 1 consisted of aptitude test. 75 questions in 75 minutes. Next day consisted of a group discussion followed by 2 interviews. We were supposed to speak for 10 minutes. The GD panel were absolutely horrendous. Out of 10+ people in my group, 1 person spoke for 7 minutes. He was not letting others speak, and the panel wasn't doing anything. In the end, he got selected for the next round. First of all, I don't know how individuals can be judged solely based on a GD without seeing their resume once. Second, how such a bossy, controlling individual in the GD was selected for the next round is astonishing. I was rejected after the GD even though I spoke well. It's ironic that the Operations and Services division conducted GDs so pathetically. Don't waste your time attending interviews for Ops and Services division. It solely depends on luck (the panel members, the type of people in your group, etc). Resume screening must be done, as candidates with thick skulls and loud mouths only make it through GDs. Horrible experience from Goldman, and it was a waste of my time.
