I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They take care of their people in every way. Very impressive facility at the NYC headquarters, with all the comforts. Strong corporate structure to make sure no one is misused. Good, transparent leadership.

    Cons

Not really a con, but not a lot of handholding if you are a slow learner. They expect top-tier, smart work from every employee. If you want to move up from an administrative position, you will have to lobby for it - nothing will just fall in your lap here.

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Good salary package
    2. Market leaders in Investment banking
    3. You get to learn a lot from the senior leadership

    Cons

    1. If you are a hard core techie then this is not the place to be. They use oldest of the old technologies and you cannot even suggest a new technology to be used as the company is not biased towards it.
    2. You will not grow as a technologist in this company.
    3. The company thrives on politics. A lot of good talent was allowed to go away as they did not suck up to their bosses

I worked at Goldman Sachs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It makes you wear all the hats as per the requirement which helps a person to gain insights into various domains.

    Cons

You might end up being a generalist instead of a specialist.

    Advice to Management

Providing support for industry-wide certifications and training and not just focussing on internal tools.

I have been working at Goldman Sachs full-time

    Pros

Very dynamic company despite its size. Every team has freedom to create new things on a daily basis and the culture is highly meritocratic. Best place on the sell side and much better than most of the buy side ones.

    Cons

The experience might be highly dependent on the team you're in. The base salary is slightly below what you can get in the top buy side firms.

    Advice to Management

Try to consider each new hire package individually instead of giving everyone the same package depending on degrees only.
