      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      31 Dec 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GoDaddy (Denver, CO) in Dec 2020

      Interview

6 total interviews. First with internal recruiter. 1 with hiring manager. 1 with a person on the team that did a coding challenge. I was told after the first 3 that they were very impressed and I made it to the "final round" which is 3 more interviews as close together as possible. I did them over 3 days. First was coding challenge. Second was for culture fit. All those went really well and I was told after #4 that they were still happy. #5 told me he thought I'd be a great fit fore the team. Then came interview #6. With some guy who has got to be the most unbelievably flat and lifeless individual I've ever interviewed with . This was also a coding challenge, and a person who was NOT a member of the team I was interviewing for. He had me do another coding challenge, but this guy wasn't interested in talking about the challenge as I went along, like other devs have been. It was as if he couldn't care less about whether or not I finished. In the real world, developers help each other. If they get stuck on something stupid, and confer with another dev, they will talk and come up with an a solution. This guy had no interest in that. I ran into one of those issues that had me stuck for about 15 minutes. He knew what the issue was, but wouldn't say anything. Then said he'd give me 10 more minutes before he gave me a hint. The second he started to give me a hint, I knew what the issue was before he could finish. I continued and finished the first half of the challenge. Once I was done, that was it. Cut off at 1 hour, no interest to see if I could finish the second part. I emailed the recruiter afterwards and told her how it went. No response. Radio silence for TWELVE DAYS until I received a call letting me know they were going with another candidate. Zero feedback from them, so I have no idea why they chose someone else. It was kind of a waste of my time, as I ended up skipping almost a week worth of interviews with other companies in order to fit all their 3rd round interviews in after work hours. I learned a bit from the process, and GoDaddy sounds like a great company to work for, but I am not sure I understand how their process helps choose the best employees.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      26 Jan 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Arizona City, AZ
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GoDaddy (Arizona City, AZ) in Dec 2025

      Interview

Overall Interviewers were great, although it was an extremely lengthy process with no offer in the end. So It took a lot of time. Interview Rounds: 1st Round Recruiter asking about Salary expectations & Basic introduction to role (Not really an interview, more of a selling the role) 2nd Round Technical & Coding Task with an engineer (25 min coding, 35min interview) simple DSA Hackerrank quesiton . 3rd Round Technical & Coding Task with another engineer (35min Coding, 25 min Technical interview) 4th Round Technical interview with manager you will work with (1 hour Technical & Behavioural, Mostly behavioural) Even though I felt like I did really well, sadly they didn't accept my application, they said they would give feedback if I wanted, but they didn't provide feedback upon me emailing them. The people I interviewed with did a great job to make the interviews professional and comfortable. I do wish there was a way to take less of my time though, and the Interview reflected what would be done on the job a little more closely. The Behavioural interview was focused around Decision making and leadership. I think I didn't answer those questios in the way requested (What do you do, not would you theoretically do was stressed) and my brain defaults to answering theoretically. As I was trying to jump up In seniority and Had a lot of experience working in smaller companies, which wasn't taken into consideration. I think it makes sense to expect candidates to have great experience, but some things can be trained on the job, and People who worked at smaller companies or teams might have a great amount of experience & Technical and interpersonal skills, but that shouldn't put them out of a role just because they hadn't worked with larger teams. as that is easy when a developer works for smaller companies that developer is used to communicating with All sides of the business.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      30 May 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pune
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GoDaddy (Pune) in Mar 2025

      Interview

I went through four rounds of interviews, all of which went well. However, in the final round, they asked whether I had any lead experience. After that, communication stopped, and weeks later, I was informed they were looking for someone with prior lead experience. It was disappointing to invest nearly three weeks and clear all rounds, only to be rejected for a criterion that could have been clarified earlier.
