We take our hiring process seriously and feel compelled to respond to the false and misleading statements in this review.
First, regarding the claim of “borderline inappropriate questions” — we asked about your current location solely to confirm that any potential contractor would have the legal right to work in the United States. This is a standard and necessary question for compliance with U.S. employment law. We also inquired about other contracts to understand your weekly availability, not to infringe on your privacy. Both questions are routine in any professional hiring process and were asked respectfully.
The accusation that we are maintaining a job post as an “illusion of growth” is entirely unfounded. The Development position referenced in your review was posted on January 31, 2025, and removed from Idealist.org on March 15, 2025 — over a month before this review was written. We concluded our hiring process by selecting and onboarding a candidate who was the best fit for the role and notified all applicants accordingly.
It is unfortunate that you felt your time was not valued, but to suggest our organization engaged in a deceptive hiring process is both inaccurate and unfair. At Global Strays, we are committed to running a transparent and professional recruitment process and treat every applicant with respect. Only one candidate can be selected in any search, and we do our best to make that process thoughtful and equitable.
