      No offer
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO (Kansas City, MO) in Sept 2015

      Interview

Very long interview process. Pre-Screening, Phone Interview, 6-8 hours of assessment, Board Interview. Make sure you really ask tough questions during the pre-screening. I pretty much lost interest after the pre-screening. It is a VERY VERY long, tough process, so don't waste your time if you aren't 100 percent interested in the area of work.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO (York Springs, PA) in Jan 2015

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter that was located in Virginia to set up the initial phone screening interview. The phone screening interview lasted about a half hour long and she was asking very basic questions such as why I choose to apply for the management development program, why did I choose Geico and how I felt my experiences have best prepared me to succeed in this position. From there the recruiter scheduled me to take an aptitude test that assessed my multitasking and verbal skills. It was extremely easy and only took about a half hour to complete. From there the recruiter had scheduled me for a longer phone interview to get a better understanding of my experiences and skills. The longer interview consisted of behavioral questions such as "Tell me a time when you worked with difficult group members and how did you handle the situation?" The conversation went very smoothly and the interviewer was extremely nice. She even had given me some interviewing tips that I could use in the future, which was extremely helpful. The next day I was contacted by another Geico representative who wanted to set up an in-person interview for two weeks later. This was where the negative experience all came to play. On the day of the interview I drove two hours to the site in which I was being interviewed. I had gotten there 15 minutes early and waited patiently for the interviewer to be ready. When he came out we had introduced ourselves and that was it, no small talk, nothing. He had led me into an office where the interview was taking place and immediately started reading me instructions from a script. I would be going through a live simulation on what a typical work day would be like as an Auto Damage Adjustor. In the instructions he had told me I would get 30 minutes to listen and read the instructions to get to know the material then start the simulation. Once the instructions were done they called as pretend customers or secretaries and I was filing claims, writing up estimates, negotiating with repair shops and scheduling appointments. I had made a mistake on the first task and as they were leaving the room the interviewer loudly made a point to say that I messed up to the other interviewer before they even left the room. Once the simulation was over, the interviewer came in to collect the materials that I was working on and left for 20 minutes to evaluate them. He then came back in the room and said "Well we will submit these to the HR department and they should get back to you within a week. Thanks for coming out." and escorted me out of the building. I got an email the next day saying I didn't get the job, which was no surprise to me. I wasn't even upset that I didn't get the job because I had drove 2 hours to be treated poorly by extremely rude representatives.
