I was contacted via linkedin by a Geico recruiter who shared the position with me, discussed the requirements, discussed my background/experience, and told me I'd be a perfect fit. They asked me to apply for the position.
It was a bit annoying because I had to manually upload all my information. I then got informed about a month later via an automated email letting me know I was not being considered. Big waste of my time.

Interview
Had a recruiter screen call followed by a conversation with their senior director of design. Both conversations were relaxed, some behavioural questions but mostly focused on my skill set. I was set to move to the next stage that's an interview with the design lead but the role was cancelled.

What AI tools are you currently using in your design process?
Interview process was very positive, great team. The issue came with HR and benefits. Ahead of the loop, I confirmed salary expectations were within range before we wasted anyone’s time. Got the offer and it came 25k under my range. They were unwilling to negotiate at all and said it was their final offer. In addition, you can not use sick or vacation time for 3 months (sick) and 6 months (vacation). This was also non-negotiable. A lack of salary transparency and the lack of flexibility for a working parent led me to decline this offer. Too bad because I really liked the team and job itself.
