I interviewed at Freaks 4U Gaming

      Interview

I was referred to the position by a former colleague in the industry, having known about Freaks 4 U's work through a past company that used their services. Applied online and heard back from their HR within a few days. Until I got ghosted the process was smooth and professional. Their HR team would regularly reach out via phone to coordinate each step of the recruitment and were very accommodating to my questions and schedule. Had an initial interview with HR where I was told that I was an excellent fit for the role, salary expectations in line with their budget etc. Second interview was with the hiring manager who was also a recent hire, format was more of a casual conversation exchanging experiences and industry knowledge than following a set script. Conversation flowed easily and naturally. There was interest in moving fast in order to get me to come with the team to Gamescom (the interviews happened through July, so about a month before the event). A few days after the interview with the hiring manager I received a call from HR stating "we want you to join us and will send you an offer next week". A week passed without a word until I reached out and was told that instead of the offer, I would have to have one more call with the CEO "to make sure we were aligned on strategy". This happened the week prior to Gamescom. CEO interview went well, his feedback was that the team was excited to have me on board and that my career path in the industry was impressive and useful for the position. I was told then that with Gamescom starting the following week, they'd make a decision after the event. Didn't hear back from anyone in the company after several follow up emails and LinkedIn messages. The only update I got was through my former colleague after two months since the last call telling me that there wasn't a job for me.
