I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FeedStock (London, England) in Mar 2022
Interview
Very poor process - hastily scheduled video interview with their representative. They clearly weren't prepared, were taking messages during the meeting and made it quite clear they were uninterested in my responses; I decided early into the interview that they were not going to be at the calibre I'm looking for so I didn't make an effort to try and engage someone who had clearly already switched off.
I had mentioned during the interview that some of their company LinkedIn information was wrong, and it's still not corrected - even one of their cofounder's information from their website points to the wrong LinkedIn profile. Just shoddy. All indicators point to a startup that's failing to properly manage itself.
The questions were cursory and of course they didn't bother to follow up with me after, which is a good thing for both of us - sadly they have a lot to learn about the candidate process, and in remembering that candidates also know potential clients. I don't tend to speak highly of companies with poor hiring processes to my clients and professional networks...
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The usual lazy tell me about yourself questions, designed for people who don't read or understand CVs.
I am very sorry to hear you had a poor interview experience, and can only apologise. I'm especially sorry to hear that we didn't get back to you and you felt the questions were cursory - in a process with over 150 applicants unfortunately the process and questions have to be standardised, and while I thought I had got back to everyone I spoke to, your update email must have been missed off. I appreciate how much effort and time goes into applications and will do my best to recognise that in each application going forwards.
