I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Dover Street Market (London, England)
Interview
I firstly had a phone interview with someone from HR and this went very well. It then took two weeks to organise a second interview. During this second interview I was welcomed and asked questions around my experience and how I handle certain situations. When it came to the end of the interview and I asked the store director some questions, they seemed quite detached and were doodling on their notepad.
Two weeks later I finally hear back and they want me for a third interview and this is yet to be booked in. I have accepted a role somewhere else and could have been in a completely different place if they were more organised with communicating with me.

Question 1
How would you motivate your team during Covid times?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Dover Street Market (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
This was for the LA location. I had applied online and interviewed online as well.
I found the interview extremely bizarre. I prepared quite a bit about my leadership skills/methods and the usual interview questions but instead my first question was about my supposed lack of customer service experience. Reading a resume for a few seconds would answer that question but I was instead asked about customer facing roles despite have 10+ years clearly outlined on my resume. I was also asked about how I dealt with a busy floor and dealing with pressure, which seemed more like a question for an entry level hire. The questions seemed totally disconnected from the role at hand unless the interviewer in question hadn't read or hadn't taken the time to read my resume. Regardless of my answers etc., I was met with a "Love that" and we moved on each time.
I was hesitant about the position given the reviews of the company but the interview really, really turned me off. It was totally devoid of any real introspection into the role or my qualifications, it was really just surface level questions about working a retail sales floor. No mention of brands, interest in fashion, etc. Perfectly easy but really a waste. It was mentioned during the interview that getting staff was their biggest challenge at the moment too, and I can see why. I sent a thank you note and was met with radio silence and I'm pretty sure the role is still open 4+ months later.

Question 1
Name a time when you received great customer service?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dover Street Market (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2021
Interview
The first two interviews were great with the HR generalist and Store Manager and were what I would expect of DSM. The third interview is where things seemed off, and to echo another reviewer a bit ‘Banana Republic’. The head of retail was the main interviewer in the final interview and she came across as insecure and not inspiring enough to lead such a creative brand.
