      Strategic Account Manager Interview

      24 Feb 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at DoorDash (New York, NY)

      Interview

Very rude and disinterested. Guy even at one point did the “speed it up” hand motion when I was talking about my experience. I have never interview with someone ruder. He is also very young, and has only been at the company one year. They aren’t looking for an account manager they are looking for a financial analyst.

      Question 1

If a company wouldn’t give you commission what would you do?

      Strategic Account Manager Interview

      21 Jul 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at DoorDash (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2021

      Interview

One screen call with DoorDash Recruiter. She reached out via email and seemed to have done her research on me as the position aligns perfectly with my past positions. The interviewer just talked at me right off the bat. Didn't ask anything about my past positions until I brought it up - multiple times. She reached out to me and although the stars looked like they aligned, they obviously don't know what any of my previous companies did, nor did she care to ask.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

She rambled for about two minutes - then asked if what she said made sense for us to continue conversation

      Strategic Account Manager Interview

      21 Dec 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at DoorDash (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

I was actually left with a very unpleasant taste on Doordash as a company after interviewing. It started with a phone screen by a recruiter who was super nice and explained the position very well. She sent me a "take home project" to do before the first interview round. I was then in touch with the manager and a current AM in the role for two- 45 minute phone interviews. These seemed to go well as I was moved on to the in-person round. This is where things fell flat. It was three 30 minute interviews that were set up (two in person and one via Zoom conference in the office.) There was rescheduling twice in the process, which I understand happens, but when it came to the day before it was basically completely different people than originally planned. I had to take time off from my current job to interview with one person (in person for 30 minutes) and one person over video conference (which could have been done anywhere) and the director couldn't make the interview at all, and said we would reschedule another phone call with her after. I thought the interviews went will, everything in the interview they mentioned & talked about in the role I had experience with and seemed like a perfect fit. A couple days later, I get a phone call from the recruiter telling me they decided to go in a different direction (wait, what? I didn't even get to interview with the director- whom I was originally supposed to meet with) and it was mainly because of answers on the take home test. The fact that they'd continue to interview me, waste my time and theirs when they had those answers the entire time is very strange to me. Anyone who's done sales or account management could easily have succeeded in this role, so to me it made no sense. The interview process here is too long and drawn out for a startup "tech" company. People usually have another job while interviewing, so expecting someone to take that much time (the take home test took me about 2 hours to complete) is a lot, especially when you don't receive an offer.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

LOTS of behavioral, analytical questions... "take home test" is interesting, very involved for someone who doesn't actually work at the company.
