I came in for an in person interview about all few days after applying online. I felt overdressed as the atmosphere is very casual which was cool. The owner never really got into details about herself and how she started the company. We sort of just went straight into my resume which it appeared she had not thoroughly read before my arrival. After about a 5 minute chat I was asked to do two typing tests and fill out 3-4 email examples. This job contains a long laundry list of tasks, too long for what they wanted to offer which was about $25,000-$32,000 depending on experience for basically being the owner’s right hand person. Received zero follow up regarding getting the job or not getting the job. Word to employers - it’s rude to not follow up even if it’s a no. One thing that really struck me was that as jack of all trades the candidiate could possibly be “helping” make cookies in the kitchen. I have no experience whatsoever as a baker, no kitchen certifications or whatever one may need to be back there. It makes you also think twice about even ordering there if random people who aren’t pastry chefs are making the cookies. I worry with start ups and could see this place still had that usual, chaotic startup feel which I’m not really into.
