      Senior Software Tester/Management Trainee Interview

      10 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Singapore
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at DYNA Q (Singapore) in Apr 2015

      Interview

If I were to describe my overall interview process, it was downright unprofessional and shows that the company lacks significantly in terms of time management. Also, clickbait job advertisement. I did this interview last year, and could still remember the experience because it was far too "memorable" to be forgotten, especially when the company is constantly advertising on various online job portals every now and then. As someone who had went through this dreadful process, I feel that it is only right for any potential job seekers who are looking to join this company to know what's in it for them. It's good for students looking for part-time jobs, but if you're a professional, please look elsewhere. This interview review is going to be long, because there's two parts to it. The role I applied to was "Senior Software Tester" and it's stated as "Full-time". The exact phrase was "Full-time position(s) available". I spent close to 2.5 hours WAITING in a tiny lobby (that has zero ventilation) and the weather was extremely hot that day too. So not only did they not start my interview at the appointed time, I wasted 2.5 hours waiting only to be told the job that I applied for pays only $6 per hour (non-negotiable) and it's part-time, and the full-time status is only given to part-timers who have worked and performed well. Interviewer also didn't have the courtesy to apologise for making me wait that long. Long waiting hours versus an interview that lasts only 5 minutes. At that point of time I already had 1.5 years experience in testing and it was a downright insult to my work experience. I was also told that they do not stick to the standard 9-6 job. So, there's a lot of OT, which includes working until 3am in the morning everyday. Please take note of this because that's just brutal. Company also claims to be an MNC with 50-200 employees. WRONG. They hire mostly part-timers, and there's only 4 permanent staff in the Singapore office. I rejected the offer. My contact person requested for a second chance, this time telling me that "there was a confusion" and that "I was interviewed for the WRONG position". I was asked if I"m interested in a "management trainee" position. At that time, I was free, had no obligations and thought to myself that, let's see about it. So my second interview was done through SKYPE. It was a very informal discussion.

      Question 1

I don't even remember if they asked any questions. Instead, the interviewer asked if i have any questions for her.
