Interview
Pros:
The HR Director is professional and engaging. The initial interview involved high-level strategy conversations and a genuine interest in my professional background.
Cons:
The positive momentum from HR was completely derailed during the video interview with the CEO. He arrived entirely unprepared, explicitly stating that he had not read my resume or cover letter, nor had he consulted with HR about my candidacy.
The interview lacked substance; instead of discussing the role or my industry-specific marketing experience, the CEO spent the time asking basic questions and Ranting about my commute (which is less than 45 minutes). Despite my background—six years running a marketing department in this exact industry—he fixated on lower-level tasks rather than my leadership or strategic experience.
Furthermore, he requested my portfolio, but tracking data confirmed he never even opened the link. To top it off, I received a generic rejection at 6:00 PM on a Friday stating my background wasn't "compatible," which felt like a direct insult given I met or exceeded every qualification in their own job posting.
Advice to Management:
The CEO needs training on professional interview tactics. Showing up without having reviewed a candidate’s materials is disrespectful of their time and damaging to the company’s reputation. If the CEO cannot commit to basic preparation, the interviewing process should be delegated to someone more capable of evaluating senior-level talent.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Custom Cones USA (Kent, WA) in Dec 2025
Interview
I applied for an Account Manager position through LinkedIn, after which I was contacted by the CEO and set up with an initial interview with their head of HR. I was then scheduled for an interview with the Sales Manager. That interview was re-scheduled multiple times, and when it actually happened it ended up being an interview for an entirely different position at a much lower level of compensation.

Interview
Very dry. Uninterested. Boring. He was cold, unwelcoming, not aware kept looking to the side. Just don’t waste your time. It’s a bunch of geeky dungeon and dragon weirdos trying to run a business.
