      Interview

Initial vibe check interview with recruiter - easy, fun, fast - went 30 minutes over. 2nd interview with hiring manager - they were 10 minutes late to a 30 minute call, had not reviewed my technical take-home, provided 0 feedback on it, and asked me canned questions like "what is your greatest strength? What is your greatest weakness?" Had to follow up several times to get 2nd interview scheduled and to hear back from Clay. They went on to offer me interviews for other roles, which I declined.

      Interview

There was an initial HR Screen, hiring manager interview, case, then final round with the founder, but it can be fairly intense. There is a mock discovery call. Nothing more to add

      Interview

Honestly, one of the most refreshing interview processes I’ve gone through. After the initial intro call, they send you a take-home project – but it’s not your typical boring task. They encourage creativity, weirdness, and humor. You’re supposed to show off not just your technical skills, but how you think and build something Clay users would actually love. I felt like I could be myself. I turned the assignment into a mini show-and-tell, built something genuinely useful, and presented it with a twist of humor. You can tell they really value original thinking, not just checkbox experience. The best part? There’s zero corporate stiffness. They treat you like a creative partner, not a candidate to drill. I left the process feeling inspired, not drained. Advice: If you're applying – don't play it safe. Show your brain and your personality.

How do you start designing your GTM? How would you describe Clay to a potential customer?
