      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Citi (Milan)

      Interview

Group 13. How do Net Operating Losses (NOLs) affect a company’s 3 statements?14. What’s the difference between capital leases and operating leases?15. Why would the Depreciation & Amortization number on the Income Statement be different from what’s on the Cash Flow Statement?

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Why do we look at both Enterprise Value and Equity Value? Enterprise Value represents the value of the company that is attributable to all investors; Equity Value only represents the portion available to shareholders (equity investors). You look at both because Equity Value is the number the public-at-large sees, while Enterprise Value represents its true value. 2. When looking at an acquisition of a company, do you pay more attention to Enterprise or Equity Value? Enterprise Value, because that’s how much an acquirer really “pays” and includes the often mandatory debt repayment. 3. What’s the formula for Enterprise Value? EV = Equity Value + Debt + Preferred Stock + Minority Interest - Cash (This formula does not tell the whole story and can get more complex – see the Advanced Questions. Most of the time you can get away with stating this formula in an interview, though).

      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Citi

      Interview

Interview process: Applied online with a CV and cover letter, then completed a Plum assessment. A while later I was invited to interview. The interview stage consisted of two 30-minute interviews on the same day. Technical interview: The first interview was technical. Make sure you understand what the department you applied for does. I found the interviewer somewhat difficult to engage with. He repeatedly told me not to be nervous and came across as somewhat condescending and patronising during parts of the discussion, which made the interaction feel slightly uncomfortable. Behavioural interview: The second interview was behavioural. The interviewer was very friendly and polite, but the format felt quite rigid. It was clearly based on a predetermined list of questions, and after answering each one we moved quickly to the next, so it didn’t feel particularly conversational

How do recent global or economic news events impact the bank? Asked questions on teamwork and how you respond to feedback.
