I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Capital One in Mar 2019
Interview
You take a bank teller test. Once you complete the teller test you receive an email with a link in it that takes you to a site that shows you your application status. If you pass the test the status says you are being schedule for an interview and if you fail your status says that you've been rejected. So after I had passed the test, I was informed that I was getting an interview. I have not heard from them over the course of two months. During that time I tried getting in contact with their staffing department inquiring when my interview would take place. No one from the staffing department would respond to my emails. After the two month period, I get an email telling me that I was declined without being formally contacted by their staffing department. I found this to be very unprofessional of their staffing department, and following this I had closed my credit card account with Capital One. I don't know if anyone in their staffing department has faced repercussions from corporate, but it has to be known that Capital One's Staffing Department has lost me as a customer.
I applied for a teller position. I received an email with a link asking me to take a teller test. After completing the teller test, I get a second email. The second email has a link that showed me my application status. My application status said that I was being scheduled for an interview. After a couple of weeks I tried getting in contact with their staffing department but the response I would get is either to wait or I would get no response at all. After two months of waiting, I get an email telling me that I've been declined for the position even though I was told I was going to be scheduled for an interview. Afterwards, I closed my credit card account with them because they basically lied to me. I sent a follow up email to the staffing department letting them know that I closed my account. They called me and they told me that once someone passes the test, they get the status that says that they're being scheduled for an interview, and they'll move on if a recruiter feels that an applicant is qualified. So in short, I was qualified to be told I was getting an interview, just not qualified enough to actually be given the interview.
A phone interview followed by an in-branch interview with the manager included generic questions regarding the role and the teller experience. Had to wait approximately 15 minutes before being seen.
HR recruiter performed phone screening in order to set up phone interview. During the phone interview you are asked questions based on experience. The also let you know which locations are hiring. Then there was a physical interview with the Branch Manger of another branch. Once passed, there was a scheduled phone interview with Branch Manager of the desired location.
