I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Sept 2022
Interview
Initial phone screening interview and then a power day interview. Phone screening was done with a CODA specific recruiter and it was actually through zoom without video. It took about 15 minutes and asked basic qualifications such as school, experience, and what got me interested in software engineering. On power day, I did three interviews which consisted of job fit, behavioral, and technical. Each power day interview was allotted 1 hr, but took about 40 minutes and rest of the time was spent on Q&A.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical: Budgeting question. I was given a budget, costs, and schedules associated with tests required for software development. I was asked to find the best option for doing scheduled tests with given budgets. Job Fit: I was asked what got me interested in coding, how I will keep up with speed if I'm in a situation where I have to learn new technologies quickly. Also was asked on how I generally approach any challenges while I'm learning. Behavioral: I was asked "tell me about a time..." type of questions related to my current job.
It was a day to spend on campus, it had alot of activities back on the day. Most important just focus on being confidant. There was also a scavneger hunt
Three rounds, math portion wasn't bad I didnt do well on the last round of behavioral. The interviewers were very nice and understanding. The earlier you get your offer the earlier you can choose between the Arlington/Richmond office. Arlington office gets filled pretty quick
The Power Day was extremely intense, lasting 4 hours, but it was a great experience. It depends on what order they give you, so I got the case interview first, then the job fit interview, and lastly the behavioral interview.
