      Application

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Feb 2012

      Interview

Applied through career services at my school and then got an interview with a hiring manager on campus. Interview went very well and that overall experience was very pleasant. The interviewer was very polite and overall very pleasant to talk to. A week later I get an email saying I've been accepted to the final round of interviews and that I need to sign up for a date, so I emailed them back immediately with the date I could make it. I don't hear back from them for almost two weeks and after emailing my recruiter back multiple times and calling, it finally takes me emailing the general careers email address to ask them to have the recruiter get back to me. About 4 days before the day that I had requested to interview they finally get back to me saying that they couldn't sign me up for the date I requested, that they forgot to get back to me about it, that there are no other times in which I can interview. I'm okay with not getting a job because of a bad interview or because I just wouldn't be a good fit with a company, but to not even get the chance to get to the final interview because of lack of communication is very frustrating.

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Capital One (Plano, TX)

      Interview

Applied through university job, got an email about scheduling on campus interview. They recommended going to a case-study seminar on campus. I went and it was helpful, then had my first round of interviews. Got an email the next day that I made it to the final rounds. Passed and got invited to the Plano campus for the final rounds. They had several dates for the final rounds, chose the last one (probably to my disadvantage). They hire you based on if they think you're fit, not really a set amount they're looking for. Next day after final interview recruiter called to let me know they wanted to give me an offer but the position I was fit for had a low demand and they would let me know in two weeks. I ended up taking another offer and letting them know. Very fast process though.
