Applied online, got a call from a nice girl inviting me in to interview. Someone crashed into me (small fender bender) on the way there, so was hurrying to make it on time for a 12 PM interview. I got there at 12 on the dot, greeted by a friendly girl who brought me into a conference room. She gave me another application and asked me to fill it out, informed me that the gentleman I would be interviewing with was running behind. Almost an hour went by before the gentleman came in. He looked over my application and resume, it was OBVIOUSLY the 1st time he had ever seen it! It was AWKWARD to sit there while someone took the next 15 minutes to look over my resume and application. When done, he looked up and said "So you're really sales!" I was mindblown as I have been a Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager for 20+ years. I explained that while I have great negotiating skills, I am not sales. He then looked at my current income and told me that he could not come close to it and apologized for wasting my time. He was nice enough, but it was just that...A complete and total waste of time, gas and money for the repairs on my car due to not having the time to get information from the driver that hit me. I did not want to be late for this interview so I told them dont worry about it! My advice: Have consideration of others time and energy! Be considerate enough to have gone over a candidates information before you invite them for an interview! Be prepared! Be on time!
