I applied on their web site, as well as through Indeed. They quickly called me in for an interview.
The interview was in a small office, and was 3 on 1 — which I certainly didn’t mind. However, the room was much too small and uncomfortable for four people.
The interview seemed to go very well — they asked standard questions which I was well prepared for — nothing they asked caught me off guard.
About a week later, the hiring manager said he wanted to hire me but needed approval. That approval process dragged out 2 months! I called and emailed to try to move things along, which the hiring manager seemed to appreciate — but nothing could be done.
Eventually, I got the job and started work.
It was later that I learned the hiring manager flat out LIED to me during the interview. I had asked what happened to the previous employee in this position? The hiring manager told me it was a new position and there was no previous employee.
However, on my first day, I was introduced to the employee I was to replace! That employee didn’t know it, and was let go a few weeks later! It was awful. Just awful.
And the worst part? BIS did exactly the same thing to me about a year later!
