Booking.com is a company I would be very willing to work for. However I was quite surprised by the interviewing process and the way I was kept waiting.
I applied online and completed the initial assessment. After a couple of hours, I received a phone call from a member of the HR; she seemed very rushed, we quickly went through my cv, she went through the roasters at light speed, made some customer-focused questions and she asked me which one I was interested in. She told me that there would be 2 start days available, and we agreed that, needing to relocate from abroad, it would be more convenient to start at the end of June instead of the beginning.
She then invited me to a face-to-face assessment and she asked me if I could attend. Coming from abroad, and being the assessment 3 days away only, I needed to check for flights and accommodation before I could give confirmation of my participation. I also asked if there was a second date on schedule. She said she didn’t know as yet. She insisted she needed to know it straight away if I could be there in 3 days. I obviouly needed to check if it was possible, logistically... She then offered to send me an email with the details of the assessment, asking me to reply. In the meantime I checked flights and accommodation.
I waited and waited for this email, checked all my 3 mail accounts, checked the spam; I never received that email, and given the urgency, I found it quite weird. I tried to get in touch by phone; the number I had been contacted from had not been memorized in my phone, so I tried to reach the HR 1) via CS email 2)via CS and 3) via mailbox.)
I left three messages with my contacts and the reason for calling.
A kind young woman from the CS told me she would pass the info.
I never received any mail or a call back. I’m still waiting after 2 days and the assessment is supposed to be tomorrow.
