They want free ideas! I underwent HR and CEO interviews. The job description seeks an individual to manage SEO strategies and oversee Google Ad campaigns. Before going into CEO interview, I was asked by the HR to prepare O2O strategies. I presented on driving O2O via Google campaign.
BUT it wasn't what the CEO was looking for. The CEO sought insights on platforms for viral marketing in China. It appears there was a misunderstanding between HR and the CEO, as the job description and HR interview topics were unrelated to the CEO's interests.
(The job description focuses on Google Ads, while the CEO is interested in China marketing, despite Google being banned there. The job description does not match their needs for viral marketing.) The CEO was seated in a cafe or lobby environment with a noisy background and poor internet connection. I didn't feel disrespected, but it was difficult to hear.
Anyway, I shared my knowledge about marketing in China. Toward the end of the interview, the CEO requested a detailed plan without compensation or commitment to hire. I provided additional information on various Chinese apps and how others promote OTC and crypto, including screenshots. Then, they ghosted. It seems that they were seeking free proposals.
