I did not apply for this position directly, I was contacted on LinkedIn by the hiring manager.
Interview process was fairly simple, call with the hiring manager and then a face to face interview. Prior to the interview I was asked to prepare a presentation on what makes me Coachable, Intelligent, my experience and my character.
I got through the first interview but the interviewer had reservations around my intelligence as I did not have a degree, so asked me to do another presentation and email over to them by the following day on what makes me special outside of work and what is most important to me.
After sending the 2nd presentation I was told by email by the interviewer that my presentation had not "convinced" her manager to take me through to the next interview stage. Bare in mind this "manager" hadn't even met me, so felt it was completely unfair to base her decision on one PowerPoint rather than actually sitting down to interview me.
The company focus too heavily on degrees, and in my opinion they view anyone without a degree less able than a person with a degree, which I think is a completely outdated view to have especially in this day and age.
All in all a very disappointing process with lots of wasted hours spent completing pointless presentations. I had all the capable skills and experience to do this role but was told no ultimately because I did not have a degree.
Waste of time.
