I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas-Fort Worth)
Interview
I applied online from a LinkedIn job posting and received a phone call a few weeks later from an internal recruiter wanting to schedule a Teams video meeting with a panel. The interview was scheduled for the following week and canceled the morning of the interview. They used an operational excuse for this reason. I followed up after a couple of weeks and heard nothing. Two more months passed, and I received an email from the recruiter wanting to schedule an on-site interview the following day. Due to logistics, we ended up making this a Teams video interview with a panel. 4 panel members were asking standard behavior-based questions (STAR) type of scenarios. This was mostly a one-way interview rather than a conversation, so I could not learn much about the role.
After the interview, I sent a thank-you note to all members of the panel and never heard back until I emailed the recruiter for a follow-up after 2 additional weeks had passed. The recruiter informed me they would not be moving forward. I will point out that the actual hiring authority was not participating in the interview. Very strange and speaks to their attrition levels.
After conducting my research, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. This company is heavily saturated in DEI to the point of it being mind-bending! Caucasian, heterosexual white males need not apply!
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines
Interview
one-one-one with the hiring manager. it was a typical interview....nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary. there's really nothing specific to say.....just an interview....nothing more to say.....nothing more to say
