      Flight Attendant Interview

      17 Jan 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2024

      Interview

The overall process is quite long so be prepared to wait and wait some more. Patience is the key here. It took over 3 months from application being put in to the face to face interview. The steps of the interview process from begging to end are virtual assessment, group video interview, and in person face to face interview in Dallas. If you pass all of these steps you might get your CJO! The virtual assessments isn't very difficult, if you have any sort of customer service experience then really lean into that and you'll do just fine. The virtual interview is a large group video call where there will be two recruiters and about 25 to 30 people being interviewed. Make sure you're in a well lit room and dress like you're going in for a physical interview. You still need to be well groomed and presentable even at this step. They ask 2 questions one is a general ice breaker question that is the same for everyone and then another questions that is behavioral or situational. The second question is different for everyone. Practice giving clear and concise answers and be confident in yourself and you'll do fine! After that you may be invited to the face to face interview in Dallas! The face to face is so much fun and a great way to meet people who may become your new coworkers so don't be afraid to chat and mingle with others. The interview begins when you come in. There is a small writing assignment that asks you to list things in order of importance. Once again draw from customer service experience and keep saftey in the front part of your mind. Then there is a group activity. Its really fun! Listen to directions and try your best to be a team player and don't become over bearing and agressive or talk over others. Use team work and hear out what everyone else has to say even if the group doesn't succeed in the objective the recruiters just want to see how you work with others in a group environment. After the group activity you break out into the panel interview groups. Questions are drawn at random by each person. The interviewer will then have each person go around and answer their question one by one. The interviewers will then switch and the same thing will happen again, draw a question and answer one by one. After this there is a small information session while the interviewers collaborate about who they will be dismissing in the 1st two groups. The first two groups dismissed are not likely to get the job offer but are always encouraged to try again at a later date ( I didn't make it my first time either so don't give up). Then physical requirements which are reach test and jumpseat. They tell you exactly what to do so don't worry. If they like you you'll be asked to do a quiter 1 on 1 interview with a recruiter. Stay calm and focused and answer honestly and from the heart. They love to see people who are passionate and persistent. After this you could be offered the CJO on the spot or at a later date if someone from their first picks decline the job offer for whatever reason. Overall i would say the process isn't too bad just a bit long. Have confidence in yourself and your abilities. If you make it to the face to face remember that it is for a reason. They saw something in you and picked you out of almost 100000 people. And if you don't get it the first time then try again later.
