      Flight Attendant Interview

      14 Oct 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Sept 2015

      Interview

I filled out my application and submitted resume and cover letter online. Later, I completed a survey. Within a week of the survey, I was invited to participate in a recorded video interview. SEE OTHER POSTS FOR VIDEO INTERVIEW INFORMATION. They were very helpful in preparing for this part of the interview process! The questions are almost exactly the same. Just read through different reviews and prepare answers for all of the questions that you read, and you should do well with the video interview. After completing the video interview, I received a confirmation email thanking me for my participation. Within 1 week, I received an invitation to interview in Dallas. The face to face interview in Dallas was really fun. There were about 30 candidates at the beginning of the interview. It was done in a group setting and later broken off into smaller groups of about 5-6 people where we were asked questions about ourselves and how we would handle different customer service questions. This is your chance to really make an impression and let them know about YOU. Stay positive, relax, and enjoy this part of the interview. Also, listen to your fellow candidates' answers. I'm sure they will make note of that. Be happy. They like it when you SMILE! The recruiters were all current flight attendants and between about 6 of them they had more than 100 years of seniority at the company. It was a really positive experience. After the smaller group interview, we all went back into the same room we started in and the recruiters began to call our names one by one and take us out of the room. Some of us moved on to the next phase of the interview, and others were sent back to the airport. By the end of the process, there were 8 of us left who got offered the job. If you don't end up in this group, don't stress! A friend of mine who currently works for American told me that sometimes those candidates get called a few weeks or months later. The process was very exciting and there were so many qualified candidates, so even making it that far is an honor.
