      Flight Attendant Interview

      18 Apr 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Mar 2016

      Interview

I applied for AA flight attendant position in January 2016. About two weeks after that I was invited to do the video interview. Most of the questions that were asked on the video interview were situational Customer Service questions & why do you want to be a flight attendant was the last. The main thing to remember for the video interview is to show your personality yes be professional but very bubbly & cute! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT practice or fix your face on the camera when you think it says it's not recording. DO NOT even turn your computer on until u are 100% READY! DON'T pay attention to yourself & how you look while you're recording your answers. There are ppl who are precorded asking you the questions so u aren't live, or being interviewed by a live person. So no need to be nervous! Pick the perfect spot with the best lighting, smile & be yourself still dress professionally. There will be 5 questions unfortunately I don't remember them (im sorry). So after I got word(email) that I passed the video interview I received a call to be invited/scheduled to Dallas, TX for the face2face interview. My f2f was scheduled maybe 2weeks after I received that call. After arriving at training center you will be told to sit in the lobby until a recruiter come & get you. So we sat in the lobby for about 45 mins along with all the other candidates. MINGLE MINGLE MINGLE with everyone smile & be friendly with EVERYONE (they are watching). After about 45mins of chatting with other candidates a recruiter comes and get the entire group and takes us to a room that had maybe 5 huge tables that sat maybe 6 or 7 people (your group). In the room there were 5 tenured flight attendants/recruiters. You were first were called to the recruiters table so they could take a look at your passport exp date. After that they introduced themselves to the group there were about 25 to 30 candidates at my interview. You will then watch a short video about AA. (PAY ATTENTION) when the interview is over they will ask the group a few questions about the video. Raise your hand to participate as much as you can. After that will play a game where your group will draw a huge circle in the middle of huge piece of paper in the middle of circle will be three lines where everyone in the group pick three things that everyone have in common.ex: everyone in my group were non smokers, have siblings, & college degrees. Then outside of the circle there will be a line that represents each member of the group. Everyone has to tell something unique about them. During this game the recruiters are walking around writing down names & paying attention to see who is participating, smiling, & how energetic you are. After that your group will go up the front of the room & takk about the circle. They will give you the instructions on what & how to say it. This test is to see your personality& to see how well you listen, & follow directions after being told ONE time. So pay attention, smile & be yourself while having fun. After that each recruiter will call u name by name maybe 6 ppl at a time. Where you will go to another room where you along with 5 other candidates sit in chairs lined up facing two flight attendants/recruiters they will ask everyone the sane questions it think there will be 5 questions at this point. Speak loud confident, smiling, & yourself HERE'S where your personality needs to shine the most. After the last question everyone will pick a card from one of the recruiters hand. You won't know what your question is until it's time to answer it. Everyone has their own question when it's your turn u will be asked to stand, read your question, & given 30 seconds to answer it. SHOW YOUR PERSONALITY! SMILE BE CONFIDENT & SPEAK CLEARLY! AFTER everyone is done with the interview you will be taken back to the first room. You will watch a presentation that talks about the pay, bases, typical workday, hours, the job, etc. ASK ALOT OF QUESTIONS! make them remember your name & face STILL SMILING & being bubbly! During this time recruiters will be calling ppl out into the hall. This is tricky everyone was treated differently. I was called out then taken down where I did a 1on1 interview, fingerprinted & fitted for a jump seat. Some ppl said they were asked to verify their email address while being walked out to the door & nothing more. So that idk The interview process is VERY FUN & it was a really great experience! I met a lot of amazing people exchanged phone numbers with maybe 12 other candidates lol so it was great! If you don't get it, please don't get discouraged& definitely don't give up! AA was my second f2f my first was with DELTA, U didn't get Delta job offer but I knew what to do for my second f2f whether it was with Delta or another airline. I was determined. Less than six months later I was offered a FA position with another (American) I fixed my mistakes & didn't give up it can happen for you too!
