Email, then phone interview with collabedit.
Was under the impression I could interview in the languages listed in the description. Instead, I was asked very specific questions about vanilla js, html and css (mainly vanilla js). Understandably this is a web developer position, but if I had known this would be a requirement for the interview beforehand would have spent the time to review in more detail or pick another position. Most interviews generally allow a candidate to pick their most comfortable language, and if not they will specify this before the interview. Unfortunately a lack of communication by the recruiter led to a poor interview experience where the technical portion wanted fluency in vanilla JS. Left a bad taste in my mouth as my application was withdrawn due to a problems within Amazon's own recruiting process. Easily implemented the solutions in my language of choice after the interview (Python), as my issues arose from being rusty with vanilla js.

Interview
I applied online and within a week I received an email to set up an initial phone screen. Two weeks later we had our phone interview, testing basic web-debugging skills and writing a simple function in JavaScript.
The one-hour phone screen was not especially difficult, so it was quite unfortunate to hear I was not selected. I heard back within one business day.
The staff were polite and professional throughout the process. Confidence is key (and perhaps a reason I was not selected). Don't vocalize your uncertainties - commit to the answers you think are best.
