I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Feb 2012
Interview
It was an awfull experience with Amazon. I got a call from the internal HR and she told me that my CV got shortlisted for Team Manager role. She explained me well the role and then fix up the interview with the hiring manager the following week. I got the call dot on time , though it was sceduled for 45 mins, however it lasted for about 1.5 hours and it was quite satisfactory. The next day I got the call fro the same HR rep and she told me that the interview went quite well and they liked my profile to have second telephonic round after 3 days from someone in Seatle. I was quite excited and took a day off and prepared hard.
The day came and I was all set for the call. Suddenly, 5 mins before the call i received an email from some other HR rep, mentioning that my candidature is not suitable for the role and they cannot carry forward the interview. I immidietly called up the number and the lady told me the same thing written on the email.
I absolutely find it unprofessional and unethical, where they have not even bother to give me a call and let me know about it. Possibly if i would not have my email acces, then probably I would have waited for their call. This is absolute unprofessional and not expected from such a booming organization.
They had good 3 days in their hand to do all the research work and should have notified me in advance. I almost have spend 10 years in operations and never have faced such unprofessional behaviour.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Amazon
