I applied online.
First phone screen: questions on my past projects and people management.
The on-site interviews were a mix of behavioral and system design rounds (culture, engineering management, coding, and system design).
There was a final call with a member of the executive team, focused on past projects and my "why"s.
The entire process was straightforward and the questions were simple. There were plenty of red flags though:
* One of my interviewers told me I might be overqualified. Another interviewer said, "they (the exec team) haven't run the product to the ground, so that's a good thing I guess"!!
* The team I was being recruited for, changed, while the process was underway and I wasn't briefed/consulted.
* At the end of the final interview, the recruiter said they had heard great things and I will be informed in a few days. When I finally reached out, they said they had filled the role!
* At every point in the process, I was told that the team enjoyed the conversations. I had no idea that I needed to rush or that there were other candidates. Every other company proactively informed me through a phone call, thanking me for my time. Airbyte informing me via email, and only after I pinged them, was quite disrespectful of my time.
