I was contacted by their recruiter a few months ago, and the interview process was somewhat "sketchy" and "unprofessional". After continuous attempts having a video conference with them, I was asked to come into their McLean office for a F2F interview with the CEO/CFO (Naeem Hussain) and their COO (Santosh Jayaram). The interview lasted for 2 hours, and I was sent home feeling positive especially going over my expertise and salary requirements.
The next day, I received an email from the recruiter/HR representative offering me a salary package, which was completely "off" to what was discussed the day before. When I explained the situation to the HR rep, she responded back to my message a few hours later requesting me to send Agile Trailblazers a copy of my past W2 and/or 1099, so they can work resolve this dilemma, and offer me the best salary possible! I felt completely offended and somewhat "judged" by their request. I find this sort of practice "unethical" and "unprofessional" from a potential employer. Having said that, I responded politely rejecting to their request, explaining I only disclose such information to my accountant only. However, I will send them a copy of my "offer letter" from my past employer so they can confirm my current "pay rate".
After fulfilling their request, I didn't hear back from them, till I re-contacted them roughly after a week passed by. The HR rep requested me to come into the office once more to meet with both CEO's of the company, and hopefully anticipate a start date. I was OK, with the idea to visit them once more, but sort of felt on the fence joining such a company that left a distasteful gesture right from the beginning.
When I arrived at their office, the entire appointment went to waste, I was their roughly for 15 mins, and was told they are having some technical difficulties with their video conferencing (no surprise) and are unable to continue the interview Blah!!! Blah!!! Blah!!! I wasnt surprised with their behavior, and felt they could've called me earlier to tell me this, versus, me driving to their office and wasting my precious time/gas. :(
Moving forward.........
Agile Trailblazers never renegotiated or even corrected my "salary" requirements REGARDLESS, even offering me the job !! They truly played the "game" and delayed to see me for many weeks and/or upto 2 months. I knew all along, they can't afford me! They are playing the "game". But, was curious to see what the outcome would be...lol In the end, they came back to me, and said they don’t have any open positions at the moment, but will keep me in mind for any future opportunities....WOW!!! no surprise!!!
