Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate it. We are continually working to improve what we do and how we operate. We’d like to sincerely apologise for not notifying you of the outcome of the interview before the job was re-advertised. This was a mistake and should not have happened. We pride ourselves on having clear processes and responding in a timely manner to candidates, with feedback. We regret on this occasion these standards were not met. We have learnt from this and put measures in place to ensure it won’t happen again.
We are sorry that you felt the task requirements were excessive. Safeguarding is a critical function for us as an education charity, working with children and volunteers, and it is essential that we set high standards for assessing anyone who is responsible for it. We believe the tasks were appropriate for the expectations of the role.
We can assure you that the panel was fully engaged with your interview and not undertaking any other activities at the same time. As mentioned at the start of the interview, we record our reflections on the candidates’ answers to all questions on a digital spreadsheet. Often this is done on the same laptop as the interview video call, which is why you might have seen the panel typing, or it may be on a separate screen which is why the panel may have been looking away at certain points.
