I used to work with the former Recruiting Manager at a different company so he got me in the door as far as interviewing for the job. I got a phone call from him, kept in touch via email and met with the two managers whom I would be reporting to. The interview process went fairly smooth but when I was interviewed, they did not do a background check. They just brought over my clearance in the system. They wouldn't have been able to tell if I had some trouble since the time I obtained my clearance. They also do not verify references if you were reffered from a current employee.
