I initially interviewed for an engineering post and after one talk with HR personnel and an interview with my would be boss, which he was 20 minutes late for, I didn't hear from them for at least 2 months. I had assumed they filled the position. Eventually, the HR person got back to me, explaining that I didn't have enough experience for the engineering role I had applied for but asked me to reapply for an Operations Team Leader role, with promise for growth into the role I initially applied for. I applied online, I didn't do an interview for it but a few weeks later the HR person rang to offer me this job at well below the industry standard. I explained that I couldn't accept that as accepting meant moving to Kilkenny as well as making far less than what I was on, which was around 31,000euro per year. A few days later, they contacted me again with a new offer which only met what I was on at the time despite it being a bigger role and more responsibility. I refused again. I have 8 years experience in the medical device industry, 7 of which were working in a Team Leader role. I didn't feel respected throughout the experience and it honestly put me off applying to Abbott again.
