Graduating this semester with a bachelor's in communication a minor in psychology and a certification in public relations. I currently work for Abbott Labs and want to join leadership, but unsure how to use my degree in regards to moving up within the company. Any suggestions and help are appreciated.
How much time does it take for Abbott to convert a contingent employee to permanent employment
I've been a consultant for 5 years; used to do t-to-p and the typical waiting period for converting is 3 months...can be up to 6 - your staffing firm has that in their client intake notes. If they tell you otherwise I'd call BS. You signed a contract that would reference this being a t-to-p role. Again, if it's not in writing - and your staffing firm only verbally said you'd convert, it's BS. Trust me on that.
Hello, I'm looking forward to ask increase next year. The increase itself is around 30% of my current salary. Is it possible to ask that? I'm in the low range right now and the 30% ask is going to average range. My current role: Data Analyst/Power Platform Developer/ BI Developer Current Pay: 68k per year Abbott
No you’ll need a competing offer to leverage that kind of an increase.
I’m exploring opportunities with Abbott Diabetes Care. What is the expected salary of experience sales professional (20 years in the industry) ? I don't want to be low balled but I also don't want to give a number that put me out of the running.
I'd say aim for 10-15% higher than what you're currently making. I usually wait for them to make the offer and then negotiate from there. Prevents the scenario you mentioned where you potentially low ball yourself. Good luck!

Why would your degree be relevant if you already have the job
