Interview
Applied online and was invited to a magic session within a week. The magic session consisted of group exercises. The first task was to learn as much as we could from our partner and then present to the group what we had found out about each other. In the second task me and my partner were given a paddling pool and were asked to come up with a list of other products we could sell to the customer with the pool. Later that day I received a call to come back a few days later for an interview with two section leaders. The interview was more of an informal chat. I was told I'd receive a call by the following Tuesday but still hadn't by Friday so gave the store a call and was told that I'd been successful and my induction would be on Wednesday.

Interview
After applying online I was invited to an Asda Life session which took place a few days later. Eight of us were scheduled to attend but only four did. We were introduced to each other and three members of staff who stayed with us for the session. The session involved listening to the staff talk about themselves and their time working at Asda, learning about the different departments you can work for, a tour of the store, some time working in the store like facing shelves and shadowing people working on the checkout etc. At the end we all went back to the room we had been occupying, each of us spoke about our recent work/school histories and hobbies etc then we were told they would get back to us soon and we were allowed to leave. I found the process to be really chill and not intimidating, the staff took notes but you didn't feel like you were under constant surveillance, and I heard back the same day.

Online test followed by a group interview which included icebreakers, availability and general ASDA knowledge, if successful the next stage is a one to one interview with department leader .
