      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ALDI (Bolton, England) in Dec 2018

      Interview

You go into a room with a member of the HR team who will be assessing you against certain competencies. The group assessment process includes you and 5 other candidates. The process is fairly laid back so just try being yourself. You start by introducing yourself your background and your favourite Aldi product. This is followed by every person picking a number which will be related to a certain topic. The topics are all related to an Aldi store, e.g. Product range(excluding special buys), special buys, store layout, staff behaviour, customer behaviour etc. You are given 10 minutes to prepare and also can use your notes to prepare. Make sure to bring notes as it shows being well prepared everyone on my day had notes. After everyone presents for 3 minutes on their specific topic the first stage of the group assessment is over. Don't worry as the presentation is done sat down so it's just you saying your observations on the stores you visited. The second stage of the interview is a group exercise which includes analysing 4 CV's for a specific job role this exercise includes everyone giving their input. The first part includes you giving your opinion on which CV is most suited for a the job in 2 minutes. The job you are recruiting for is a new project to improve checking out at the tills by 60%. After everyone gives their own suggestion on which CV is best suited for the role. The group has 20 minutes to decide which CV is best for the role and present this back to the HR recruiter. This is the end of the assessment day.

      7 Mar 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (London, England) in Oct 2023

      Interview

Overly lengthy application process. They are looking for a very particular individual regardless of technical experience or capability. If you have a group of people that are not particularly capable, It is almost impossible to do the group exercise properly without coming across as overbearing.
