I applied online. I interviewed at ALDI (Darlington, North East England, England)
Interview
I applied on line was offered a group interview which I couldn't attend so was then offered a one to one with regional manager which went well although I did ask if they would honour holidays I had booked. In hindsight I should have waited until after my holidays to apply as I had 2 booked in the next couple of months and why would they give holidays to someone on a trial? Got an email a couple of days later to go to a work assessment which was a maths test which I couldn't see properly as I had forgotten to take my glasses and the writing was very small. On the trial there was 2 of us and I kept getting asked to do things over the other person so I said when asked to do something that it was the other persons time to do it - not because I was lazy and didn't want to but because I thought he should be involved too and this I think has come across wrong to the assessor - big mistake on my part and I should maybe have said something at the time. All in all not a bad experience just faults on my part.

Pleasant and honest. Interview was held a hotel conference space in an open day format. Prospective workers were called in batches in a sort of ‘speed dating’ format. Interviewers were actual assistant store managers and as such were able to provide relevant insight into the role.

Informal interview so if you don't become best friends with the interviewer at the end, you wont get the job however I'm glad I wasn't put through as the interviewer told me that it does not only consist of stock and some customer service, as you'll be basically be doing 4 jobs in rotation most of the time. Yes, not for that pay I wont, thanks for the rejection :)
