Mine as well as the others on my shift had hours cut to an avg of 10 hours/ week during their "slow season" (summer), but then hired new employees to fill the gaps instead of just giving us the hours so they wouldn't have to give any raises

Employee discount, the work does not require much thought - a clock-in/clock-out type of job, & if you're younger, there will likely be many other coworkers around your age.

You could be scheduled a 4:30am shippment shift, an evening shift, weekend shifts, or holiday shifts - the work/life balance is not ideal. Plus, they do not often respect time off requests and still hold you responsible for finding coverage, or they will write you up.
