"Pride for me is a time of celebration and reflection. Queer people have fought long and hard for basic human rights like the ability to love openly and to simply exist in public without fear. The battle is far from over, but it’s important to take a moment to joyfully bask in how far we’ve come." — Rob Klein, Brand Marketing Manager, he/him #PrideMonth
"1. I love working with all the smart people in my team. 2. I love to be part of the company that make the software to empower millions of people around the world. 3. I love to be in a company that I don't have to worry about showing my identity." — Shiqi Yang, Software Engineer, he/him #PrideMonth
In celebrating #PrideMonth, we wanted to highlight a few of our wonderful teammates who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. We're so proud to work alongside them, and we hope you enjoy getting to know them a little better. 🌈 "As someone who struggled with coming out for years, and still faces challenges with acceptance from family, being able to be my authentic self and be proud of my identities as a queer Filipina woman is incredibly important. I'm so proud to stand up and speak out for our LGBTQIA+ community, to honor all the folks who fought for queer rights, and to be visible for those who can't." — Trish Ang, Senior Frontend Engineer, she/her
Every June marks the celebration of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, and broader community. Now, especially, we cannot forget the first Pride fifty years ago was a riot. And, at the forefront of the first revolution fighting police brutality against the LGBTQIA+ community were Black queer and trans organizers — a community with some of the highest risks of violence and discrimination. There is no LGBTQIA+ equality without racial justice and equity. We stand in solidarity with our Slack LGBTQIA+ employees and customers, and those protesting for justice today, and commit to doing the work for a more just future for all because #BlackLivesMatter.
