We are still buzzing with excitement from NCS Impact 2024! 🎉 Themed "Changing the game", the forum was graced by Guest of Honour Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister, Singapore. This year, we were joined by more than 1,200 attendees and 90 global participants from the Asia Pacific region - Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan and South East Asia. Across the main plenary and specialised tracks, insightful and thought-provoking dialogues were sparked on how best to navigate the ongoing uncertainties, mastering both AI and Digital Resilience to maximise impact and be 'Game Changers'. Attendees got to immerse themselves in interactive showcases such as green AI, robotics and immersion reality. They also enjoyed a new experience of discovering their game-changing personalities and creating unique digital avatars. 🌊 We are excited to announce an incoming wave of new initiatives and collaborations that allow organisations to deploy AI securely and at scale. During our Impact forum, we unveiled a suite of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital resilience (DR) solutions for organisations looking to re-invent themselves in the AI era. This includes the AI+DR Matrix, Polaris DR and Industry Business Solutions (IBS). 🤝 We also formalised strategic collaborations with industry leaders to further facilitate AI adoption and digital resilience, • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Launching the inaugural Generative AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Public Good. • Dell Technologies: Leveraging the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, as an early adopter in Asia Pacific and Japan. • Schneider Electric: Delivering end-to-end sustainability offerings and AI-enabled solutions, marking a first-in-Asia partnership. • Income Insurance Limited: Utilising smart, real-time data through our Breeze app to extend insurance protection to motorists and travelers. As NCS becomes intelligence-led, we are committed to equipping our 13,000-strong workforce with AI-powered services and solutions to boost productivity. We aim to create a 3,000-strong AI-certified practitioner base, with over 300 serving as AI experts to lead cutting-edge AI innovations.
We commemorated Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Day with even greater enthusiasm and strength! 🇸🇬 Along with Singtel, we are thrilled to be the appointed Combined Rededication Ceremony for West Zone this year, where over 200 attendees gathered at NCS Hub to reaffirm our commitment towards National Defence and honour our national servicemen. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister of Manpower and Second Minister for Trade & Industry, who delivered an inspiring speech on national defence. Centered around the theme "Insurance Transformation," we joined finance and tech industry leaders to explore cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of insurance. ✨ Two of our speakers shared valuable insights in their respective panels: 💬 Kevin Cheung, Head of Financial Services at NCS Hong Kong, emphasised how growing data analytics capabilities remains critical as growth driver of the insurance industry and the importance of digital transformation to leverage unique market positions. 💬 Tat Yeong Cheah, Head of NEXT at NCS Hong Kong, discussed how insurance companies can evolve by harnessing digital technologies to navigate the digital frontier. Jointly with Qlik, we also showcased practical applications of Qlik data integration with SAP solutions in the finance industry. A key topic raised at this year’s Asia Tech x Singapore Summit, “Spotlight on Women and Youth in Tech” dives into the transformative potential of digital technologies to empower education and how inclusion ignites innovation. In a special panel discussion “Smashing the glass ceiling – Women who have cracked the code”, our CEO, Kuo Pin Ng, joined Minister Josephine Teo, H.E Jessica Rosenworcel, Jane Sun, Lee Chew Tan, Vaishali Rastogi to discuss key topics that are emerging in the state of women in tech, the key challenges women faced when trying to pursue a technological career, and key strategies, structures and enablers needed to be put in place to truly embrace gender diversity. Excited to join hands with Institute of Technical Education on this journey to nurture and grow a strong pool of local tech talents! 🤝🎓 We’ve signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide ITE students and graduates with more pathways to kickstart exciting tech careers. Upon successful completion of their internship or attachment, students who have demonstrated strong capabilities can qualify for our Ignite work-study programme. This programme allows them to work full-time at NCS while undertaking a fully sponsored Diploma course, with no bond obligations. After an intense 2.5 months, we’re thrilled to officially conclude the NUS-NCS Innovation Challenge 2024! In collaboration with NUS Masters of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), the innovation challenge serves to empower students to showcase innovative ideas while tackling real-world challenges using technology. The challenge saw students from various universities and polytechnics in Singapore: Collaborated in groups to brainstorm a cutting-edge traffic management system using Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance commute efficiency and green mobility Received invaluable mentorship and coaching from our team of experts: Sunil Sivadas, Ph.D., Xu Chang (XC) Yong, Shaurya Bhasin, Royston Bok and Adrian Ellison Gained insightful perspectives on the transport landscape and AI from an esteemed panel of judges: Shaowei Ying, Wynthia Goh, James Pang Yan, Kok Choon Tan, Khor-Ping Quek 郭可鑌 We're honoured to be part of this challenge, providing a platform for nurturing young talents to collectively redefine urban mobility and shape a future of intelligent transport. The future of mobility hinges on robust connected vehicle security for autonomous navigation, advanced maintenance, and seamless services like Electric Vehicle (EV) charging. Wrapping up our Automotive Cybersecurity Workshop today, hosted by NUS-NCS Joint Laboratory for Cybersecurity, we convened with various industry experts to delve into securing the next-gen mobility infrastructure. The second part of our workshop, jointly conducted with Upstream Security, explored the complexities of deploying EV charging infrastructure and involved participants in a hands-on tabletop exercise, with deep insights to #cybersecurity threats. Armed with a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in securing the future of automotive security, we aim to pave the way for enhanced collaboration and innovation in this field.
Kicking off the first day of Digital Economy Summit 2024 in Hong Kong, we came together with government officials, global tech leaders and international industry experts regionally to delve into the transformative power of smart cities.
