This year the global IRIS community would like to celebrate the collective spirit that defines us. From transforming a haunted house attraction into a force for good to volunteering at schools, orphanages, and participating in community-driven initiatives like crocheting baby hats and supporting local fairs – our colleagues are making an IMPACT all over the world, From UK & Ireland to America & Canada to Romania & India; we've left an indelible mark on the communities we touch. Our commitment to environmental stewardship was demonstrated through partnerships with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and dedicated litter picking and gardening initiatives. Meanwhile, the joyous Santa Dash marked the festive season, where our team, donned in red and white, spread cheer and goodwill. Across all our locations, we hosted 6 Christmas parties that brought together over 500 incredible individuals. The joy and warmth shared during these gatherings truly embody the spirit of the season! But that's not all – our amazing team has gone above and beyond to spread the festive cheer beyond our offices. 🎁 We're thrilled to announce that we've collected an impressive stack of gifts for children, supporting the Wood Street Mission's mission to bring joy to families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford. Because every child deserves a gift to unwrap and a smile on Christmas morning! In addition to our gift drive, we've also embraced the season of giving with our Christmas Jumper Days. 🧥 Not only did our team look fabulous in their festive attire, but we also used these days to raise funds for Save the Children. Together, we've made a positive impact on the lives of children around the world, ensuring they have a brighter and happier future. At IRIS we’re passionate about our Social Purpose: to inspire and support the next generation of talented young people to achieve their potential through a career in tech. This year, we've created over forty work placements for young people starting their career, and hosted workplace experience days for over fifty students from local schools to give them a taste of the world of work. We've partnered with organisations such as the Prince's Trust, Salford University, Slough Business Community partnership and Universiteti Metropolitan Tirana to create work experiences and internships across a diverse range of teams at IRIS including engineering, customer support, marketing and finance. Our goal is to build confidence and skills to those kick-starting their careers. Through these placements we’re creating opportunities for those who might face barriers entering the world of work, promoting social mobility and taking action on socioeconomic diversity. Bring your Kids to Work Day at IRIS Software Group! Our Manchester and Heathrow Approach offices were taken over this month by lots of mini-IRISians! Colleagues' children explored the office, learned about the business, computing and marketing, made a bracelet with their name on using binary code and searched for treasure in the scavenger hunt. They also enjoyed pizza 🍕 and ice cream 🍦 and took home some IRIS goodies. 👜 We recognise that our employees world outside of work greatly impacts their wellbeing, and we wanted to create an opportunity for team members to bring their world into IRIS.
