Last week, our Women at CarGurus and People of Color employee resource groups welcomed Monica Lee Foley, rocket scientist, fear slayer, and fire starter, to speak to our CG community about #womensempowerment, #DEI, #leadership for radical times, and how we all can create exponential value in a connected world. Monica is the Chief of Staff at NASA's Johnson Space Center and is a technical integrator for human spaceflight programs and is currently applying her expertise to meet NASA’s bold mission of landing the first woman on the moon and the first humans on Mars. She also has over two decades of low-Earth orbit human risk mitigation, operational and sustaining engineering experience. She has executed over 3,000 hours in the Mission Control Center- Houston as an International Space Station flight controller where she specialized in Electrical Power Systems and was the first to earn three electrical power flight controller certifications! Many thanks to Monica for sharing her story with our community and to our Executive Team sponsors for leading this discussion!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve been named as one of the Boston Business Journal’s 2021 Best Places to Work! Thanks to all of our Gurus who make CG such a fun and enjoyable place to work!
For the first time last week, CarGurus observed Juneteenth as a global company-wide holiday. At CG, we’ve done a lot of listening, learning, and unlearning to become better allies, advocates, colleagues, and leaders. Celebrations like Juneteenth serve as a reminder that there is still work to do to end systemic racism and injustice, and our continued daily practice beyond these observances helps us cultivate more informed, powerful perspectives that shape how we work together to create a more diverse and inclusive community.
Recently, we announced the appointment of Yvonne Hao to CarGurus’ Board of Directors and Audit Committee. Yvonne is an accomplished leader with tremendous experience providing technology and consumer companies with operational guidance. Her deep background in developing outstanding teams and building strong consumer brands will further strengthen our Board's leadership as we continue our rapid growth at CarGurus. Welcome, Yvonne!
We remain committed to fostering an inclusive culture where all voices and perspectives can be heard.
