I have been working at emarsys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Emarsys has great people. Hands down. The leadership team is constantly looking for new ways to grow the company, improve the work experience/workplace, and all while growing the company at a steady rate. I can't imagine a better work environment right now!

    Cons

It is a global company and that scares some people. You might have to jump on a call early in the morning, but that's about as bad as it gets.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at emarsys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Lots of new features (sometimes innovation for the sake of innovation) deployed regularly
    - work/life balance is great.
    - culture is casual and friendly

    Cons

    - Emphasis on Sales
The extreme bias favoring sales is disgusting. If you're part of the sales team you can do anything you want as long as you make the sale (There are instances when someone sold emarsys as a BI analytics tool). Management says they discourage this but do not take any action since it brings in revenue. All the budget goes to Sales first before going to any other department. If you're in Sales, this is the place for you.

    - Fragmented:
The organization is fragmented which is evident in the product. Different modules in the product do not even integrate with each other and uses different standards. Product teams do not talk with one another and some do not even use the core platform.

    - No Career path unless someone moves out or more people join the firm (your growth is limited by how much emarsys can grow. Emarsys's growth is limited by how much sales can bring in - which is obvious why there's a bias as per the first point). Very flat hierarchy.

    Advice to Management

Different teams need to work together to gel the company and the product as one. The C-suite seems to be working in silo and the CEO needs to step up to join hands.

I worked at emarsys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company really started to invest in its people during my time. Learning/Training helped to make you feel you were growing with the company and empowered you to want to try harder and be better
HR encourages the Friday social aspect and getting to know your colleagues which helps remove the team silos.
Fantastic team environment and generally a fun place to work.

    Cons

    Poorly managed / Micromanaged
Spoken to and treated like children. Treated disrespectfully.
Jekyll and Hyde approach to management
Leadership is not a real fit and does not culturally or socially fit in with rest of the team (irritating, immature and disruptive)
No long term plan or clear career progression. No structure and everyday is a mess. It’s hard to get anything done right when you’re being pressurised to produce results ASAP due to lack of planning or foresight

    Advice to Management

    Commercial Operations:
Treat and speak to a team like they’re adults. Respect and treat people as you’d expect them to treat you.
Don’t openly fault your team members, it’s demoralising and not very motivational
Surely at some point you have to take a look at a certain team with a high attrition rate and realise that it’s not the team that’s the problem and that’s it’s an individual manager is why people have really left.
Stop being so controlling and trust/guide the team. Provide structure and clear direction.

I have been working at emarsys full-time

    Pros

I've worked at Emarsys for a significant period of time now. The company has and is still going through significant growth and the leadership takes pride in empowering the teams to all join the movement. It genuinely is a team effort at Emarsys, the people are great and the feeling you get from knowing you are a valuable contributor is unique. Emarsys recruits senior leaders with long-standing industry specific reputation and expertise which means you get to learn from the best professionals in the industry. My direct manager has invested a lot of time in developing me and believes in my abilities to deliver. The company is fast paced and my job is certainly challenging but I enjoy it. I feel that emarsys has allowed me to climb the career ladder successfully and I would recommend it to anyone who is driven enough to want to make an impact whilst constantly learning.

    Cons

Long working hours, it's difficult to have a work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Work on improving benefits. Keep showing recognition to the team efforts and spread this recognition across ALL teams not just the commercial ones.

I have been working at emarsys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The interview process was one of the more smooth and transparent interviews I've been part of. From the recruiter to the leadership, everybody was professional and welcoming. They challenged me with a 20-30 minute sales presentation. This project I felt was appropriate, as it allowed me to research the company and get an idea of the type of work I'd be doing.

The company, culture and interview process are all top class and I'm excited to begin my new career with Emarsys.

    Cons

They made me sweat it out a bit waiting for the offer. I ended up reaching out to the hiring manager after a few days because I was convinced this is where I wanted to be. Not really a CON in my eyes just hoping other applicants understand to reach out and go get what you truly want for yourself.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. I have friends in Indy's tech community and they all had strong positive outlooks on Emarsys.
