Pros

PTO, remote work are the only positives

Cons

Hilarious that WebPT higher-ups/HR put positive reviews in to try to offset the negative ones after layoffs. WebPT has gotten worse and worse as time has gone on. It used to have much better culture until Warburg-Pincus ended up sucking that dry from the company. We have had two rounds of layoffs in one year and jobs are moving overseas. Their direction due to their absolutely wonderful (sarcasm) company they hired to analyze the business and my personal favorite Warburg-Pincus was to scale down the teams dramatically and leave some teams with only people in the outsourced areas. Some of the teams in other countries are allowed to get away with not following policies and lack basic proficiencies in the jobs they are hired for (WebPT probably pays incredibly low and is horrible at hiring competent people from different countries). Speaking of competence, people have been placed in roles not due to their competency all over the org, but due to their connections. You don't even have to have experience in that field to lead a team! That's absolutely never caused more work on the people below them to cleanup their mess.... It's impossible to make any advancements or keep on-track because management loses interest in one project suddenly and you have to shift gears all the time with so much time wasted on any one project. But who cares, right? After all, you are just a number to these people, so the elites can take home their exorbitant pay while laying-off and overworking the people below them and bemoaning how laying off people was a "hard decision" for them (yeah, right). I absolutely hate this company. The CEO sucks. They have some of the most unkind people they hire for some of their departments who definitely treat you like they are a number and they aren't even good at their jobs! Also, after all the terrible layoffs, they had the all to host a "how to cope with stress" class that laid all of the blame for the stress on the employee. If you want to never sleep due to all the stress from overwork and layoffs, by all means, take a job here. Don't be surprised when you end up getting the pink slip. The company has gotten tanked in their eNPS, but they just say mea-culpa with making no good changes. Also, they keep making their health insurance more expensive because they cover less and less of the cost and take poorer plans. But you don't need stability, a good healthcare plan, a good work-life balance, right? You'd rather just help executives make a nice, hot buck, I am sure.

Based on the details of this post, you are a current employee so I encourage you to reach out to the Chief People Officer to discuss your grievances; no one should have to work for a company that they openly hate. We would love to hear your insights on how to address and improve the issues you’ve raised in this post.

The Big Decline

Pros

Lol lol lol lol lol

Cons

There are some major -and I mean major- issues at this company when it comes to diversity. I don't know if "diversity theater" is a term, but it should be. No amount of diversity blog posts and pet projects can change the underlying culture. This was difficult to come to terms with and makes my blood boil. The "cool startup" narrative is false, and it is used to justify being cheap. But hey, at least you'll get a lot of t shirts and other free plastic garbage! Maybe if they reallocate the t-shirt and sticker budget, they could bring one whole employee up to their market value. The best part of the past year is watching leadership Pikachu face while droves of people quit. I wouldn't count on this 200 IQ big-brain leadership team to figure out why, though. Employees have to deal with a bunch of incompetent middle managers who couldn't manage their way out of a wet paper bag. It leads to a lot of toxic behavior because tenure is too highly valued. I have never felt so disrespected and belittled. Even senior leaders seem way in over their heads to me. On my particular team, the micromagement is severe. Highly educated and skilled people have been transformed into mindless paper pushers. It's soul crushing, and it makes you wonder why you even try to care about your job. If I could describe the company culture in one word, it would be: panic. I hope that the people who left are all finally getting a chance to get a good night's sleep and take care of themselves.

Too many changes

Pros

Unlimited PTO and flexibility of my schedule

Cons

The CRO is making so many changes that is resulting in people leaving or wanting to leave. It feels like every week a new change is made with no regard for how it affects the employees or the customers. Working with healthcare customers experiencing extreme hardships because of reimbursement rates is difficult but the changes being made are making things worse for them not better. We express our concerns during quarterly NPS surverys and things don’t get addressed even with the commenter on here stating it’s being addressed. They skip by addressing these concerns on our company stand ups and just talk about things like awardco (which is a joke in itself. It’s so hard to even get an monetary rewards from it) Pay is below market value for what people in my position make at other companies. They don’t seem to care about retaining employees. Promotions don’t happen within my department, even for loyal and amazing employees. Bonuses get cut. And they screwed people over when we were all suppose to get a 3% raise but didn’t give it to everyone (even those who were said to be qualified on the announcement email and then they back tracked and claimed not) Anyways, a lot needs to improve to get people to want to stay. webpt doesn’t seem like a company you can stay with long term and grow with
