      Great people, horrible upper management

8 Feb 2023 - Fulfillment Associate in Scranton, PA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Weekdays 8-4:30, weekends and holidays off. Lenient with travel due to weather. Decent pay, time off, and benefits for an older person or someone fresh out of college. Every day was either non stop moving and packing orders in two different departments due to very low staff or you sat around all day looking for work/helping other departments. Overall, pretty boring, but somewhat stress free job.

      Cons

Upper management in NY was… how everyone pictures the average New Yorker. Snotty, stupid, whiny to say the least... Once Covid hit, they never left their homes again, “worked” from home aka check emails for 10 minutes a day and that was it. They also forced masks onto everyone while watching cameras from home 24/7 while you actually worked. You’d get yelled at if you pulled your mask down just to take a sip of water or get a breath of fresh air. They forced vaccines onto everyone and if you declined, you were fired by them, even if you already had Covid. They had no problem with you being 300 pounds, eating catered fast food, free candy samples, or taking 20 smoke breaks a day, though.

      Fun but you'll burn out!

      16 Dec 2022 - Customer Service

      Pros

Great office, fun events. Cool place to be in.

      Cons

Too much work. Burn out. Nonstop tickets 24/7. Lunch break is unpaid so you have to make up the time or else you get in trouble. Phones ringing off the hook non-stop. They're always behind on everything by months. No ticket is ever from the current week. Pay rate is so low. Everyone in CS lives paycheck to paycheck. Couldn't afford to put into my 401k because I'd be broke.

Lack of structure and clear expectations. Fanatics might help make things better.

17 May 2022 - Product Manager in New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Flexible work life balance. Excellent colleagues, creative and passionate people. Awesome properties to work with. Ever since Topps was acquired by Fanatics, our benefits are significantly better. In general, the new ownership bodes well for our future. The added infrastructure will probably help Topps grow and improve.

      Cons

Low pay for tenured employees. Incredibly resistant to properly compensate current employees, even when hiring new people with the same title at almost double the salary of tenured team members. Fanatics ownership appears to be competitive for new hires, but current and long time employees get screwed. There is a long history and deeply engrained culture disorganization, nepotism, and refusal to give the employees structure and guidance. I believe the Fanatics ownership can help correct this, but the culture is very pervasive and will take a lot of work to improve.

      6 Jan 2022 - Manager in Mumbai

      Pros

A historical brand with exciting licenses to work with. The HQ's policies during the pandemic were good

      Cons

Dystopian, toxic workplace, the local unit has been in losses for years, people joke about the unit shutting down all the time, office was started twice in the middle of pandemic against HQ's instructions, all holidays were made invalid including some Saturdays, threatened to be fired if you didn't want to work on a Saturday or wanted to exercise your right to WFH even if there was no urgent business, micromanagement of extreme levels that no two colleagues will have the same sales numbers, single washroom for men/women/visitors, sexist, racist, islamophobic office using slurs for international colleagues, no exit interview, no appraisal system and so on. Why waste your time?

5 Oct 2021 - Graphic Designer in New York, NY

      Pros

Topps, on average has a decent work/life balance.

      Cons

Much lower pay when compared to a similar position the industry. No clear career path in most job functions. Getting ahead here is less about meritocracy and more about cliques and cringe-worthy displays of self-promotion.
